ISET — the International Seminar & Symposium of Egyptology in Tokyo — hosts two kinds of gathering: invited seminars, built around a single visiting scholar and a long-form subject, and the symposium, a single day of short papers from many hands.

The symposium reached its second edition in July 2026, convened the day after CRE26 Tokyo so that visiting scholars could extend their stay for a further day of exchange. The seminar series brings individual guests to Tokyo for an afternoon of sustained argument.

セミナーは、招へい講師をひとり迎えてひとつの主題を深く扱う形式、シンポジウムは多数の発表を1日に集める形式です。2026年7月には第2回シンポジウムを、CRE26 Tokyo の翌日に開催しました。いずれも講演は英語で行われ、学生をはじめどなたでもご参加いただけます。
